Cake Smash – 1st Birthday – Sandi K Photos

I love when clients bring their kids in for a cake smash! These sessions are so much fun! My latest cake smash was for the youngest of three boys. I’ve been shooting this family since the oldest was born, and I always have fun with them.

We always start out with some fully clothed photos, before the messiness starts. Alessio didn’t really know what to make of the whole thing. Why is everyone standing there staring at me? Some of the things we do to get kids to smile around here really crack me up!

His older brothers were helping me cheer him along. They’d toss him the ball and clap for him when he caught it.

One last photo before we start the cake smash! Yay!

I love the look on his face when he saw the cake.

He was a little unsure of what to do, but with a little help from mom and dad, he soon began to play!

Now, we can’t possibly have his two brother sit there and watch their younger brother get to devour a whole cake and not let them have a turn too. So, I handed them some forks and let them play since they were such good helpers throughout the session. They weren’t quite as messy as their little brother. They told me the cake was very good!

What is your favorite flavor of cake? Mine is lemon with lemon pudding and whipped cream on top. Not sure that would translate well in a cake smash. But it would be fun to try!
