For the last 6 or 7 years I have been part of Kid’s Day at Pocono Raceway with my photobooth. This is a fun morning for the kids to come in and get introduced to the track and the world of NASCAR.
Over the years they have really expanded what they offer to the kids and families. This year, for Kid’s Day, they had a bounce house, a bubble guy, balloon twister, face painter, a bookmobile, and the photobooth. The Scranton Aquarium was there with some of their reptiles for the kids to see close up. They also had a chance to make their own potato heads out of real potatoes. Tobyhanna was there with one of the Army trucks for the kids to climb on. There are also many vendors there that give out small gifts or items to the kids.
I love interacting with the kids and seeing the excitement on their faces as they tell me who their favorite driver is, or what their favorite part of Kid’s Day was.
Overall, it’s a fun morning for the kids and the parents. This year, as Kid’s Day ended, the truck race began. The kids all filed into the grandstands to watch the race. Hopefully, the next generation of race fans is being born.
Thanks for having me again, Pocono! It was a BEAUTIFUL weekend for racing!
Thank you to my cousin’s daughter Kaylee for helping out and to my cousin and his wife for helping me pack up at the end.
